Leader in Equity and Public Health: Transforming science into policy to close gaps and empower communities
About
I am Dr. Magaly Blas, an epidemiologist, doctor in public health, researcher, and health equity advocate. My work ranges from social innovation in health to leading initiatives that generate a real impact on public health.
Founder and Director of Mamás del Río (Mothers of the River), a social innovation project that strengthens maternal and child care in rural communities in the Peruvian Amazon through community work and digital technologies. This initiative has improved care in underserved areas and inspired the creation of IKARA, a non-profit association dedicated to innovating and generating greater knowledge in Amazonian health.
